POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direction and oversight of agency programs to ensure their continued optimum growth and improvement of services to families; develops strategic collaboration with like-minded agencies to form alliances; and promotes the vision of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.  Works with middle management staff to develop effective strategic goals annually.  Provides general oversight of administrative, clinical and evaluation services of the following services: Parenting Training, In-Home Services, Behavioral Health Services, Parent Support Groups, Children’s Programs, Community Outreach, Professional Training and 24/7 Parenting Helpline.  Assumes leadership with academic organizations including design of clinical studies and annual review of program’s outcomes.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manages and directs program staff and volunteers to ensure that programs function optimally and with full budgetary accountability.
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, recruit, interview and select well qualified program staff; and insure that all program staff receive an orientation and training in accordance with agency standards.
  • Establish a performance management process for all program staff.
  • Lead program staff in the promotion of the vision of The Board of Directors and the Executive Director by developing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of agency programs.
  • Develop an annual budget and operating plans to support the programs; monitor and approve all budgeted program expend
  • To create, maintain, and strengthen working relationships with all levels of government, funding sources, and media.
  • To keep abreast of the latest child abuse trends and statistics, research, and strategies and to help guide staff in their professional development.
  • To select, develop, and maintain a highly qualified, motivated and diverse professional staff.  Encourage teamwork, personal initiative, and accountability.
  • Develop a strong public awareness and understanding of The Family Tree and its mission by serving as a spokesperson and engaging other staff and Board members in this process.
  • Coordinate the communication with funders as outlined in private and public funding agreements; and oversees the reporting and filing.
  • Assist in the oversight of the financial administration, budgetary process, audit procedures and cash flow of each program.
  • Help ensure that effective and innovative methods are developed and implemented for raising ongoing funding from diverse sources and actively engage in seeking and maintaining funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Establish and implement program evaluation and research activities that improve the effectives and efficiency of program operations; monitor program activities on a regular basis including identifying risk and taking appropriate action to control risk.
  • Monitor a database that records and monitor progress numbers
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide direction, input and feedback regarding program activities

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience senior management in a human services or non-profit agency.
  • Experience with diverse funding strategies.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written, preferably experience in grant writing.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or another human service field and Mental Health license required.
